CHAPMAN’S LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE REFLEXES
The lymphatic system, by draining all body tissues of metabolic waste,
dead cells, foreign microbes and other debris must be functioning at its
optimum to insure fast recovery from inflammation, infection or trauma to
those tissues. Within the lymphatic system also lies the immune system which
can be stimulated to enhance resistance to infection.
The Chapman’s Reflexes are specific points located on the front and back
of the body that when stimulated induce lymphatic drainage of various lymphatic
vessel beds. By stimulating these points, each specific for a different
organ or part of the body, you can greatly enhance the self-generated recuperative
powers of the immune system and speed recovery from various common maladies
as colds, flu, headache, menstrual pain, sore throat, etc.
This course is offered by Ortho-Bionomy instructors as an adjunct to massage
therapy practice. A textbook is included as part of the course with detailed
illustrations showing the exact locations of all points.
Originally designed for the Osteopathic profession by Frank and J.B.Chapman,
Osteopaths who practiced in the early 1900’s, these reflexes were
virtually ignored by most of that profession and taken up again in the 1970’s
by Chiropractors and massage therapists learning Touch for Health, where
about 14 of the 125 reflexes are shown as Neurolymphatics.
Arthur Lincoln Pauls, D.O., founder of Ortho-Bionomy® has reintroduced
Chapman’s Reflexes in their complete form as part of the family of related
disciplines to be taught to all Ortho-Bionomists to expand the therapeutic
possibilities of gentle touch.
