Massif de la Chartreuse on the left, massif de la Belledonne at right.

The city of Grenoble is in the valley, which looks NE toward Albertville.

Massif de Belledonne looking over Ile Verte, a residential part of Grenoble, taken from my living room(!) at 19 Marechal Randon.

while I lived and worked in the Dauphinois (region of Grenoble).

Gorges de la Bourne

Scenic view at the mouth of this deep and spectacular canyon west of
Grenoble in the massif (mountain range) called the Vercors.
This rugged terrain was the stronghold of the Resistance during WWII.

The city of Grenoble:

Le télépherique, the cable car, is visible at center bottom.
Note the snow above 2000 feet or so.
