August 6, 2003 - Eight inches of fiberglass insulation going in, with one inch foam over it. The 2x8"s are fired out with 2x2"s to leave two inches of space between the insulation and the roof for venting space. All rough cut white pine so that is really two inches, not 1.5 inches!! Will make the ceiling something like R-35. |

Doors and windows are the walk-out basement. The door on the right will be the main entrance to the house, the one on the left might open into a green house some day. The front part of the basement will work well as living space with that amount of south facing glass. The stair to the basement will have the insulation covered with sheet rock and white pine. |
